Two days ago J and I were driving down the A1A and we saw a bumper sticker that said:  “I ( heart) Sea Beans!”  I said to my main man—I have never heard of sea beans, maybe we should look for some when we go to the grocery store, I’d like to try them!!!    Does anyone know what sea beans are??? 

Well—we found out today!  And weren’t we surprised!!   They are actually things that wash up to shore, like sea glass, or shells, or sand dollars!  There are hundreds of different kinds of sea  beans, and they all have names!  Some bigger, some smaller, but all are referred to as Sea Beans.  

Jerry and I went to an Art Fair at Lori Wilson Park today.  It wasn’t very large, and there weren’t many people there, but there were a couple of artists  that had jewelry made out of Sea Glass.  One of these exhibitors also had a bowl full of different kinds of Sea Beans!!  She gave us a great history lesson about things that wash to shore and that can actually be identified with names, dates, and locations!!!  She gave me a “Hamburger Sea Bean.  It is named that because it does actually look like a hamburger, but it is only about the size of a quarter!

It is very hard, but very light weight!!  Anyway, now I know what Sea Beans are, but I guess I won’t be eating them anytime in the near future!!!  LOL

That is the end of todays Cocoa Beach history lesson.    Not EVERYTHING we do here involves tequila, you know!!!   OK, time to go get changes, after all, it is Saturday night—Party On Dude!

Tonight we  went back to the ”scene of the crime”!  We had a totally wild night at Rum Runners last night, so tonight we thought we would go over there early, 7ish, for dinner, and sneak out of there before the music started.  Much to our surprise—it was crazy busy when we got there, and it just kept getting busier and busier and busier!!  By the time we left (9), we had to push our way through the crowds to get out!!  Wow, it was crazy busy!!  As we were slowly making our way to the door, this guy (and may I say, really good-looking dude!)  looked at me and said:  Hey, there’s the “wild woman” !!!   He smiled at me and I gave him the “woohoo”!!   As J and I finally made it out the door, he told me that they we at the bar last night too!!!   I couldn’t decide if that was a good thing, or NOT!!!  LOL 

Anyway, I did have a fantastic time with my Jersey friend, and all her  Jersey girls.  In fact, they made me an official honorary “Jersey girl” !!  Let me just say—J G’s do know how to party!!    But rather than telling you about  the  good time we had—what is it that they say about a picture being worth a thousand words???

I do believe that we were finally kicked out of there at about 2:15 A.M.!!! 

J and I definitely missed the sunrise this morning!!  And I must confess–we actually drove  to “Simply Delicious” for breakfast, instead of walking!!

10 – Traveling time was a bit to long when you get to be old(er)!!  After 14 hours, it was a bit hard to get the mojo moving and groovin’!

9 – Spending hours writing the best blog ever, only to have it disappear!

8 – Losing the charge card!

7 – 4 hour layover in Detroit!!  

6 -  Eating lunch at 11:45 (10 :45 home time)!!  We were hungry, the food looked and actually tasted good, but after we were done, we were tired and full and still had hours to wait for our flight!

5 – Looking for, but not finding, the oxygen bar at the Detroit airport!  We could have used a little bit!!

4 - Because we couldn’t find the oxygen bar, we sort of fell asleep waiting!!

3 - Waking myself up with a snore — it must have been Jerry!!  (at least it wasn’t a fart!!)

2 – Getting to the Orlando airport, waiting for our luggage, and waiting and waiting and waiting!!!  hmmmmm

1 – Long shuttle ride to get our car, since it was $80 cheaper than getting the car at the airport, like we usually do!!

10 – After the long wait in Detroit—having a Jack Daniels on the plane ride to Orlando.  It really was the next best thing to a tequila–yummm–Thank you Wayne for the free drink tickets! 

9 -  Having the best weather ever!!!  It has been hot, but breezy—the best of both worlds!!

8 – Finding the charge card in the washing machine!!!   We can go out tonight with a clean card!!  Woohoo  Rum Runners here we come!  Ladies night!!

7 – 10a.m. Bloody Maria in Detroit!   It was made with our favorite mix, and it was probably about 1/2 the cost of the Bloody’s at the Milw. airport!!  Delish!!

6 – Getting a really awesome new patio set today!  Take a look . . .

5 – Walking on the beach at low tide!

4 – Seeing old friends at our favorite eating/drinking locations.

3 – When you are hungry–you eat, when you are tired you sleep, and when you are thirsty (or not)  you DRINK!

2 – Finding our luggage at the Delta/Northwest Airline luggage center!!  Apparently our luggage took a much earlier flight than we did!!

1 – Taking afternoon naps with my best friend (IYKWIM)!!!

Life is Good!!  I’m just sayin’

I just spent more than an hour finishing the blog I started this morning.  After I finished, I was about to edit, spell check and then post, WHEN IT  MYSTERIOUSLY DISAPPEARED OFF OF THE FACE OF THE EARTH!!!   Grrrrrrrr  WHAT A BUMMER!!   And it was actually a pretty good one too!!  Don’t you hate when that happens??? 

Oh well, so much for our traveling adventures!!  Cocktail hour is just about over and it is time to think about dinner.   You got to love vacation.  It is all about the next meal!  Tonight we decided to go to Rusty’s for something light, since we had a late lunch at Coconuts.    I am not going to stress about  loosing my ” best blog ever”  since so far, we have had a perfect day!!  Maybe tomorrow I will tell you all about it!  Until then— CHEERS!

Finally!!!  After 14 hours of travel, we are here!!   Sitting on the balcony havin’ our first cocktail in Cocoa Beach!! Woohoo

So, you probably thought that my first two blogs of this month were short –but this one is even gonna  be shorter, cus we are leaving real soon for some cocktails and eats at Rum Runner!  I will definitely fill you in on the travels tomorrow, but for now—PARTY TIME!!

I am not exactly sure how many episodes are left, but I have to say—this is one of the best seasons ever!   How bitter-sweet is that, since it is the last!!  Monk is leaving me this year, but he is going out with a bang!   You know—I love that show!  It has always  been my fav, and this year is no different.  J and I were watching tonight and I just have to share this line with you cus it really cracked me up! 

OK, so Monk was talking about why he doesn’t like dogs, and he  was saying things like dirty and smelly and needy and then he said:   and they eat, and then they UN-eat!!!    I really had to LOL out loud when he said that!  I sure will miss that guy!!!

On a different note—tomorrow morning we leave for Florida!  Woohoo!!!  Let the party begin!   I will keep you all  posted on our adventures!

Most of you know that my daughter Sara is the one that got me into writing  blogs.  She is a blog writer (“A Little Nonsense”)  from way back, and she thought that I would not only be good at writing blogs, but that I would also enjoy doing it!   Well, I do have loyal peeps (thank you peeps) and the enjoyment comes when  I  get comments, as you all know.  Anyway, that is not what this blog is about.  Here’s the thing:

Apparently, November is “write a blog-a-day” month.  Sara has been doing it for the last ? years, but I never have!!  However, since November is the month that “my main man” and I go to Florida ( and I usually try to write every day while we are on vacation, so I can update my fam on our trip) I figure I might as well TRY to do the “every day for the month” thing!   But— I am not making any promises, and they may must be short little “thoughts-of-the-day” or whatever, but I will try!!       I’m Just Sayin”

My Son-in-law, Deac, enjoys watching  Meet the Press on Sunday mornings.  So, while he was watching his show — Michael and I decided to go into the kitchen and have a little fun with the play-dough that Aunti Angie and Uncle Nick got him for his 2nd birthday.  As we were creating purple tigers and green butterflies, I could hear several men’s voices getting louder and louder — each one trying to speak over the other one that was trying to speak over the other one!  All having their own opinion on whatever subject they were passionately discussing.   All of a sudden it dawned on me!!!   There was something very familiar!!  Meet the Press reminded me of the show that MEN criticize!  The show that is often made fun of by the MALE population.  The show where women passionately discuss subjects that are considered “hot topics”!!  And yes, occasionally  more than one woman is talking at the same time —just like I heard this morning.   I couldn’t believe my ears!!  Really, Meet the Press was just a male version of  The View, but with testosterone instead of estrogen!!    I’m Just Sayin”

I know that  my peeps have been  checking for a new blog, so I just thought I would take a few minutes to save you some time.  This is the thing–starting tomorrow, for 6 days, I will be roughing it!!  I will have NO internet access, I will have NO cable TV, and probably NO TV to fall asleep to when I go to bed!!  YIKES!!  

Tomorrow I  am flying to MN to paint.  Angela and Nick just bought their first house!!  So, while they are off to work I will do my best to turn this house  into their cozy, comfy home!!  That is my job and I love it!!  Besides the fact that I will have to go through computer/cable withdrawals, I am really looking forward to this trip.  I love my kids and I love to paint, so this is the best of both worlds!  But before I leave, I just felt the need to let you  all know that you can save your clicks.  There will be no new posts until I return to civilization!  In other words I will be “on the DL”!  Ta Ta for now

My baby girls wedding was on September 19.

Angela and Nick got engaged on the beach in Florida in April 2008.  So for almost 1 1/2 years we have been planning this wedding!!  I must say that I was much more of a mom-zilla, than Angela was a ” bride-zilla”!   I wasn’t horrible, but when things went wrong, like when we had to have the invitations all printed twice because the location we were having the reception changed their name, or when I realized that the ink on the return envelopes smudged during the mailing, it did stress me out!!  I was also a bit shaken and  may have uttered “OMG”  over and over to myself, when the Wedding Co-ordinator from Coast sent us an e-mail stating that she no longer worked there, and that happened  before we had our negotiated prices confirmed in an official contract!!!  But through all our planning, doing, and re-doing,  Angela always remained calm, at least in front of me!!  But then again – - – I did always try to remain calm in front of her too! LOL   One by one, the details all came together.  And after many sleepless nights, and worrying about the weather, the invites, the place cards, the flowers . . . it finally all came together on that beautiful Saturday evening! 

Although Angela and Nick wanted to have the wedding on the patio, the decision to have it inside was definitely the right one!  Just the right  amount of  chairs were set and one of Angela’s special friends made sure that everything  else was set up perfect!!  From the place cards to the memorial table and all of the table centerpieces—she did  an awesome job getting it all together!!   Thank you Carrie!!! 

Gloria is Angela’s BFF and also her MOH (maid of honor)  Gloria made sure that her dress was steamed to perfection, besides a hundred other details that  she took care of !   Thank you Glo — YOU ROCK!!

 The wedding ceremony began promply at 5:00 p.m.  It was one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever been to!!  The minister was a personal friend of theirs.  He provided the guest with a very touching sermon—I have to admit–I laughed, I cried, and then laughed again!  And I do believe,  everyone was right there with me!!! 

 Instead of the lighting of the unity candle, they poured the  2 pitchers of different colored sand into one , and during this time my grandaughter Brittany played a beautiful song on her clarinet.

The entire service lasted about 1/2 hour, and was immediately followed by cocktail hour!    

Dinner was served promply at 6:30.  The food was delish, although I really was too excited to even eat much!!  But of course I did have room for the best wedding cake EVER !!

The dinner was followed by an awesome video that Angela and Nick put together.  I think  it included pictures of almost everyone that attended the wedding!!   And the cocktails continued!!

After a few special dances—Angela and dad, Nick and mom—then the party really got going, and this is when I put my camera down!  After all, I am a dancin’ machine!!   I may have to write another wedding blog showing the pictures from the “reception”!!  The photographer told me she has some great pictures of me enjoying the music, if you know what I mean!!!

I do believe that fun was had by all!  My wish for my daughter and newest son was that they have “the wedding of their dreams” . . . and I think they actually did!!    I do think it was a perfect wedding…for the perfect couple!!    “I’m just sayin”!!
